Cancellations, Refunds & Damaged Goods

FOR ALL MATTERS ARISING IN THIS SECTION 1.18-1.25 PLEASE REFER TO 1.26 "NOTIFICATION PERIOD"

Under the Consumer Rights Act all products purchased are of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. Under the Consumer Rights Act you have a legal right to reject goods that are unreasonable (i.e. unsatisfactory quality, unfit for purpose or not as described) and get a full refund - as long as you do this quickly.  This right is limited to 30 days from the date you buy your product: After 30 days you will not be legally entitled to a full refund.
If you simply don't like it, it was an unwanted gift or you've changed your mind once you've got it, you're not legally entitled to anything although we will refund provided adequate notification is served (1.26) and the products returned sealed, unused and in their original packaging.
There are three main examples of when you may want to return a beauty product that are justifiable:
1. The product doesn't work as you'd anticipated or provide the results you would expect;
2. The packaging is broken leaving the product inside open to further damage;
3. You've had an adverse reaction or irritation to the formula, which has impacted on your confidence or ability to go about your daily life.
Under the Consumer Rights Act, if you are outside the 30-day right to reject but within six months from the purchase date, you have to give us the opportunity to repair or replace any goods which are of unsatisfactory quality, unfit for purpose or not as described.
Under the Consumer Rights Act, after the first six months the burden is on you to prove that the product was faulty at the time of delivery. In practice, this may require some form of expert report, opinion or evidence of similar problems across the product range.
1.16 In all communications regarding Returns or Damaged Goods, a photograph accompanying the product will assist in providing the appropriate remedy: Communications are only accepted by email (and thus for the record).
1.17 In returning a product (for any reason) you are responsible for the condition of the goods until it is delivered to us: If damage occurs during the return process by your chosen courier, you are liable and we therefore advise delivery by an appropriate 'Signed For' and appropriately insured postage service (e.g. Royal Mail Special Delivery).

1.18 Cancellations
All customers have the right to cancel their order under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation & Additional Charges) Regulations.
1.19 Your right to cancel an order for goods starts the moment you place your order and ends 14 days from the day you receive your goods.
1.20 To meet the cancellation deadline, please notify us via email customerservice@skinandbones.co.uk or phone before the cancellation period has expired.
1.21 If you are in possession of the goods you are under the duty to retain them and take reasonable care of them. You must send the goods back to us to our contact address at your own cost (unless we delivered the item to you in error). In all cases, refer to 1.24 "Returns"
1.22 We reserve the right to make a charge not exceeding our direct costs of recovering the goods if you do not return the goods or return them at our expense.
1.23 Once you have notified us that you wish to cancel the order, any sum debited to us will be refunded to you as soon as possible and in any event within 14 days of your cancellation.

1.24 Returns
You will not have the right to a refund for an order of any goods that have been opened, unsealed or used unless the goods are unreasonable. For hygiene reasons, all cosmetic products (Non-exhaustively: Lipsticks, lip-gloss, powders, moisturisers, creams, lotions, liners, shadows, nail products) and refills (eg pedicure products) are NON-REFUNDABLE unless either the products are returned sealed. In addition, refunds are not possible if you combine goods with other goods after delivery so that they become inseparable. It is therefore essential that if you discover on receipt of the goods you have made the wrong order that you notify us immediately without unsealing the goods, otherwise a refund can only be considered if the goods were unreasonable. Notification must made within 30 days of purchase (1.26).
Refund Procedure:
1. Notify us in writing by email to customerservice@skinandbones.co.uk by stating your name, address, the date of the order, the reason you require a refund and the items to be refunded;
2. Upon notification you will receive confirmation within 7 working days asking you to post the items for refund. You are responsible for the cost of the postage and we strongly urge you to send these by Royal Mail Special Delivery (or an equivalent Track and Signed-For Service) keeping your postal tracking number for reference. We are not responsible for any loss arising from any act or omission on your part;
3. Once the goods have been collected by us they will be examined to ensure either:
i. The goods remain sealed in compliance with (1.24) or;
ii. The goods were unreasonable (and notification was served within the 30-day period from purchase);
4. A valid refund to the cost of the goods will be completed within 7 working days. Postage costs are not refunded.

1.25 Damaged Goods
We strive to ensure the goods are pre-packed in appropriate protective covering (e.g. 'bubble-wrap') and placed in either an air-pocket envelope or box. All goods are dispatched in good faith and you are responsible for the goods once they are delivered. It is therefore essential that goods damaged in transit are reported to us and we will notify the courier company to reduce the likelihood of future occurrence. If you fail to notify us of damage during Shipping, a presumption may be asserted that the goods were delivered undamaged. In the unlikely event of breakage:
1. Notify us in writing by email to customerservice@skinandbones.co.uk by stating your name, address, the date of the order, the nature of the damage and the items that are damaged;
2. Upon notification you will receive confirmation within 7 working days asking you to post the items for refund. You are responsible for the cost of the postage and we strongly urge you to send these by Royal Mail Special Delivery (or an equivalent Track and Signed-For Service) keeping your postal tracking number for reference. We are not responsible for any loss arising from any act or omission on your part;
3. Once the goods have been collected by us they will be examined;
4. Replacement goods will be dispatched within 7 working days: If a replacement cannot be provided an alternative may be suggested or a refund offered in lieu at our sole discretion. Any refund to the cost of the goods will be completed within 7 working days and Postage costs are excluded.
In the execution of clauses 1.24 & 1.25 returned goods must be delivered by an appropriate 'Signed For' and appropriately insured postage service (e.g. Royal Mail Special Delivery).

1.26 Notification Period
In the operation of clauses 1.18-1.25, Notification should be executed by the purchaser within 24 hours of the receipt of the goods or discovery. Delaying notification may affect your Statutory Rights.
